چکیده
Background and Objectives: Antimicrobial agent use in pisciculture exerts a selective pressure, resulting reservoirs of extended spectrum beta-lactamase producing Escherichia coli the aquatic environment. Here we screened fish parts as non-clinical source CTX-M TEM Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamases (ESBL) Southeastern Nigeria Methodology: A total sixty [fish gills, body part intestinal swab samples] were collected from farm A, C, F G within Abakaliki metropolis. The samples bacteriologically analyzed using standard microbiological techniques for isolation identification. ESBL enzymes phenotypically detected E. coli, isolates double disk diffusion technique. presence genes was determined by polymerase chain reaction specific primers. Results: accounted overall occurrence rate 27(45.0 %) 17(28.3 respectively. There no statistically significant difference ESBL-E. among different P>0.05. gene 80 % 100 respectively confirmed isolates. Conclusion: Our findings reports it is important understanding mechanism resistance operating these common pathogens, which are also endemic most area. Strict rules monitoring/surveillance antimicrobial used activities combined with food safety training farmer owners/breeders on various aspects good hygiene practices strongly recommended.

Objective(s) Production of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) by enteric bacteria continues to be a major problem in hospitals and community. ESBLs producing bacteria cause many serious infections including urinary tract infections, peritonitis, cholangitis and intra-abdominal abscess. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of ESBLs producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiel...

Introduction: Production of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase enzymes (ESBLs) in E. coli creates many problems for patients. These enzymes are located on transferable elements and can hydrolyze penicillins, broad-spectrum cephalosporins, and aztreonam. This study aimed to determine the clinical isolates of E. coli producing ESBLs of blaSHV and blaTEM in the city of Zanjan. Methods: This cross...

Background & Aims: One of the most common causes of bacterial resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics is beta-lactamase producing. The aim of this study was to compare the antibiotic resistance of urinary Escherichia coli (E. coli) isolates producing CTX-M and TEM type beta-lactamases, and to determine the strains with co-resistance to multiple antibiotics in Mashhad, Iran. Methods: E. coli b...

The occurrence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases-producing bacteria is an important public health issue. The aim of this study was to investigate phenotypic and genotypic characteristics regarding the presence of extended spectrum β-lactamase ctx-m, per and ver producing Escherichia coli isolated from raw dairy samples. For this purpose, E. coli were isolated from 247 raw dairy samples (milk...

This study determined the phylogenetic groups and virulence factors of 37 Escherichia coli isolates producing types of CTX-M compared with those of 19 isolates producing different types of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) in a well-defined North American population. Most CTX-M-14 producers (97%) were from phylogenic group D; 67% of the CTX-M-15 producers were from group B2. A single CT...
